We’ve been busy for the last week, navigating the fun of government regulations! As some of you may know the state of Georgia has relaxed the cottage industry regulations, so we’re officially off the leash. Kind of.
All we need is a water test from a state approved laboratory to get the ball rolling. Asking the government what the government wants is an uphill battle, to put it lightly. We’ve given a water sample to the county extension office and paid the fee for a water test, which is what we were told we needed, only to find out that our county’s extension office doesn’t run that test. Fun stuff.
After visiting a grand total of 6 government buildings in our county we stumbled into the right office! (Thanks Lisa) We’re getting ready to schedule an inspection and test of our private water source, to ensure we don’t have any harmful bacteria in the water supply, because testing it ourselves isn’t good enough.
